
Dr David Jefferys (pictured, left) is 57 years old and standing as a Conservative council candidate in the Clock House Ward
David is an experienced medical doctor, who also worked in government, industry and as a CEO. He is married to a teacher, with two children at university.
Born in Catford, he moved to Beckenham in 1991. David, a keen sportsman, is involved with several local sports organisations and with local and national welfare and education charities. He is also a church warden.
He believes passionately in a patient-centred NHS, especially to meet the needs of elderly residents. He will campaign for more support for local start-up businesses and more apprenticeship schemes. He wants to see opportunities expanded for young people. In education he is currently working with several universities and professional bodies to enhance the teaching of science and how to fit our children to meet the opportunities and challenges of the changing world.
